About the network

The UPR Academic Network (UPRAN) brings together a diverse and global community of researchers and academics working on the UN Human Rights Council's Universal Periodic Review — the mechanism through which every UN member state has its human rights record examined by its peers.

Our members range from PhD candidates through to very experienced scholars, across law, politics, international relations and beyond — you can find them all in the directory.

The network exists to share expertise, foster international and interdisciplinary collaborations, and give UPR scholarship a public home: members publish blog posts, commentaries and working papers here, maintain public researcher profiles, and connect with colleagues studying the same questions from different corners of the world.

Anyone who shares our interest in the UPR is warmly encouraged to apply for membership, or simply to read and engage with the work published here.
